According to an official listing from the British Board of Film Classification, IT: Chapter Two may make some audiences restless with the runtime. The film will be 169 minutes and 11 seconds long or roughly 2 hours and 49 minutes. This puts it slightly longer than the first IT film which ran for 2 hours and 26 minutes. Surprisingly, however, this is slightly longer then what was originally teased.
Last month, IT: Chapter Two director Andy Muschietti revealed that the film would be 2 hours and 45 minutes long. This was apparently cut down from an initial cut that was at least four hours long. Given how much content the books have, however, it’s no surprise that the films would be so long as well.
What do you all make of this length? Is 2 hours and 49 minutes too long for a horror film? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
