After J.J. Abrams signed an overall deal with Warner Media, it was rumored that he would become the next filmmaker to take on the Superman franchise. However, recent reports are now saying that J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot is currently developing movies and television shows based the Justice League Dark side of the DC universe. How involved J.J. Abrams will be with the Justice League Dark projects is currently unknown.

Other directors like Doug Liman have also been involved with the long in-development Justice League Dark film. Additionally, the Justice League Dark character Swamp Thing recently had a DC Universe series that was canceled after just one season.
