That petition does not come from anybody that is actually in a position to do anything about it.
While Simmons brushed off the petition and it’s unlikely that he’ll actually be offered the role, Simmons added that he wouldn’t be against the opportunity if it came his way.
Being in those movies with Sam [Raimi] was one of the great joys of my career. It was a super fun character so I’ll never close the door on anything.
While it would be cool to see Simmons in the role once again, the fact that Peter Parker will be returning to high school for quite some time in the planned series makes it unlikely that we’ll see any major focus on the character or The Daily Bugle.
