Jaden Smith Has Some Strong Words About Robert Pattinson’s Batman Casting

The Batman recently started pre-production and Jaden Smith has some things to say about Robert Pattinson playing the Dark Knight.

Jaden Smith is no stranger to Batman. On various different occasions, he has dressed up in a fully white Batsuit. At Kim Kardashian and Kanye’s wedding, Jaden Smith vowed to “protect everyone there.” The artist even has a song titled “Batman,” so he knows and loves the DC Comics character. However, he did have some words for Robert Pattinson, who was recently cast in Matt Reeves’ highly-anticipated Batman movie. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Jaden Smith had the following to say about Robert Pattinson’s casting:

“Oh my gosh, I don’t even know what to say. Amazing things are happening every day that you don’t even know. I don’t even know. I’m at a loss for words with how excited I am for him [Robert Pattinson]. It has to happen. It has to f*cking happen. He will be the best Batman. I’m losing my f*cking sh*t.”

Jaden Smith had a very positive reaction to Robert Pattinson’s casting.
Earlier this year, Robert Pattinson was on board to replace Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight for the upcoming Matt Reeves movie The Batman. This will be Robert Pattinson’s first comic book movie. He is mostly known for his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight series. In addition to The Batman, Robert Pattinson will be starring in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film Tenet.
What do you think about Jaden Smith’s comments? Are you just as excited as he is to see Robert Pattinson in the lead role? What was your first reaction to the Robert Pattinson casting? Let us know down in the comments!

Plot details for Matt Reeves’ film are still under wraps. Previous rumors once pointed to an earlier version of the script featuring Ben Affleck bookending the film as his current Caped Crusader while the film introduced a younger version of the Dark Knight. But with Ben Affleck retired from the role, Robert Pattinson has officially replaced the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League actor as the DC Extended Universe’s Bruce Wayne.

While details are slim, Matt Reeves has confirmed that his film is not based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic and will emphasize the hero as the world’s greatest detective more than previous films have in the past. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader.

The DC Extended Universe continues next year with Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.

The Batman hits theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for more updates on the project.
