During a livestreamed event on Thursday, Bond 25 director Cary Joji Fukunaga and producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson revealed the full cast for the highly-anticipated project, as well as new production and story details. The film’s official title was not mentioned as it’s being kept under wraps for now.
Joining Daniel Craig are Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Lea Seydoux, Rory Kinnear and Jeffrey Wright, as well as franchise newcomers Rami Malek, Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen, David Dencik and Dali Benssalah. Principal photography kicks off on April 28, 2019.
An official synopsis for the movie has also dropped, revealing what Daniel Craig’s James Bond has been up to since the closing moments of Spectre. You can check it out below.
Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
James Bond 25 will mark Daniel Craig’s final outing as 007 after having played the iconic character in Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre. Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Fukunaga worked on the Bond 25 script.
Filming will take place at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom. Additional filming locations include London, Jamaica, Italy and Norway.
James Bond 25 is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 8, 2020. Stay tuned for more updates on the project.
