‘No Time to Die’ Producer Says Next James Bond Won’t Be A Woman

No Time to Die producer Barbara Broccoli stated that the next James Bond won’t be a woman.

With Daniel Craig’s tenure as James Bond set to conclude with the release of No Time to Die, many fans of the 007 franchise are already looking towards to future by proposing potential actors to take on the iconic role. Of course, there continue to pushes to modernize the 007 film series by casting a woman or person of color as the next James Bond.

However, No Time to Die producer Barbara Broccoli, who oversees the James Bond franchise with her half-brother Michael G. Wilson, stated that while a man of color could become the next person to take on the role, a woman won’t be next 007. Instead, Broccoli made the cast for creating new characters or women as opposed to taking a male character as replacing them with a woman:

“He can be of any color, but he is male. I believe we should be creating new characters for women — strong female characters. I’m not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it. I think women are far more interesting than that.”
