There are a couple nods in the film to Hasselhoff. Besides him being the ideal image of a father figure to Peter during his childhood years, Hasselhoff’s likeness is also shown in the film when Ego transforms to reflect the actor as he is today.
But one of the funniest aspects of the film is that in Awesome Mix Vol. 2, a special track titled Inferno is included. The song is also performed by Hasselhoff himself, and it plays during the film’s upbeat end credits in which we see some of the Guardians dance to the beat.
The official music video for Inferno will be available for our viewing pleasure very soon. James Gunn recently tweeted that it will be online soon, hinting at appearances from members of the cast, Hasselhoff and even himself:
The music video for Inferno will be included in the special features of the Blu-ray, DVD and 4K release of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when it hits stores on August 22. Meanwhile, the film will first be available on Digital HD on August 8.
