In the first Captain America film, actress Laura Haddock made a brief appearance as a fan who sought an autograph from the Star Spangled man. Years later, Laura Haddock returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Peter Quill/Star-Lord’s mother, Meredith, in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
A fan theory suggested the unnamed woman and Captain America had a one-night-stand, resulting in the birth of Meredith Quill and consequently making the First Avenger the grandfather of Guardians of the Galaxy leader Star-Lord. However, James Gunn recently took to Twitter to remind fans that Meredith Quill’s father was actually seen in both Guardians of the Galaxy films, with actor Gregg Henry in the role.

While production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was scheduled to begin early this year, the project was put on hold following Disney’s decision to remove Gunn as the director of the final chapter in the trilogy. Now, James Gunn will begin production on the third Guardians of the Galaxy film after completing work on The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. and DC. Details on the third chapter of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy are currently unknown, though the film will likely explore the ramifications of the universe-changing events in Avengers: Endgame.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Sean Gunn.
