James Gunn Returns To Twitter After Disney Rehires Him For ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’

James Gunn released a statement on Twitter following Disney’s decision to rehire him as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Today, it was reported Disney reinstated James Gunn as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 months after cutting ties with the filmmaker over offensive tweets he wrote years ago, which were brought back into the public sphere by right-wing commentators. Now, James Gunn has released an official statement of Disney’s decision to rehire him in which he expressed his gratitude towards the company for bringing him back and the fans for their support over the past few months.

James Gunn had completed his script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and production was scheduled to begin early this year. However, the project was put on hold following the decision to remove Gunn as the director of the final chapter in the trilogy, though Disney and Marvel Studios reportedly intended to use his script. Now, production on the third Guardians film will begin after James Gunn directs The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Sean Gunn.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest updates on the Marvel Studios film as it develops!
