James Gunn On How ‘Guardians Vol. 2’ Is The Director’s Cut

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' director James Gunn answers a fan's question on whether or not there will be a director's cut of his upcoming film.

Whenever films are released, fans are always waiting for the director’s cut. Many even argue that the unedited version is the one that is better than the theatrical version. For Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn, he’s happy to say that the theatrical version of his upcoming film is, in fact, the director’s cut.

“The released version WILL BE the Director’s Cut. No need for a different cut since the studio didn’t make me change anything.”

Gunn shared this information on Twitter after being asked whether there would be a director’s cut of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 by a fan.

You can check out the original tweet below.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Micheal Rooker, Kurt Russell, and the voices of Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is in theaters May 5.
