James Gunn Reveals Details On A Deleted ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Scene

Director James Gunn revealed details on a deleted scene from the first Guardians of the Galaxy film, including a song that didn’t make the cut.

James Gunn told fans on Twitter that a funny scene from Guardians of the Galaxy involving one of the prison guards didn’t make it into the theatrical version of the film. The director was taking part in the Quarantine Watch Party of the film hosted by ComicBook when he revealed the new information about the deleted scene. He also noted that the scene would’ve added another song onto the now legendary soundtrack of the film.

The director revealed on Twitter that the deleted scene saw the guard who took Star-Lord’s Walkman dancing through the prison beating some of the inmates while listening to Pilot’s Magic. It’s easy to picture the song fitting right into the Marvel film in a comedic scene. Take a look at James Gunn discussing the deleted scene below.

Are you disappointed the deleted scene didn’t make it into the theatrical version? Are you excited to see the third film? Sound off in the comments below!

While production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was scheduled to begin early this year, the project was put on hold following Disney’s decision to remove James Gunn as the director of the final chapter in the trilogy. Now, Gunn will begin production on the third Guardians of the Galaxy film after completing work on The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. and DC. Details on the third chapter of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy are currently unknown, though the film will likely explore the ramifications of the universe-changing events in Avengers: Endgame.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Sean Gunn.
