The Suicide Squad is hitting theaters in 2021, with James Gunn taking over writing and directing duties. James Gunn was originally supposed to be in production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 but after being fired from that film last summer, he decided to move on to DC’s The Suicide Squad.
James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 had Drive production designer Beth Mickle attached before the writer/director was fired. According to HN Entertainment, Beth Mickle will now join James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad as production designer. Although James Gunn has since been re-hired to write and direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Beth Mickle’s status on the Marvel sequel is still unknown.
Beth Mickle is also known for her work on the film Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. The 2016 Tina Fey-led war dramedy also featured Margot Robbie in a key role. Margot Robbie made her DC Extended Universe debut in 2016’s Suicide Squad as Harley Quinn. Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn will next be seen in next year’s Birds of Prey: And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn and is expected to appear in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad as soon as more information becomes available.
