James Gunn Says ‘The Suicide Squad’ Is ‘Fully Finished’

The Suicide Squad director James Gunn revealed the DC film is “fully finished” and praised the studio for its flexibility.

With The Suicide Squad heading to HBO Max later this year, director James Gunn recently spoke to fans on Twitter about his experiences working with both Marvel Studios and Warner Bros’ DC Films. Gunn explained how accommodating Warner Bros.’ was when it came to The Suicide Squad, praising the company for not interfering with the project. James Gunn’s words come soon after Joel Kinnaman described the film as more of a reboot.

The director also mentioned that the notes given from the studio about The Suicide Squad weren’t major, revealing that he didn’t have to take them if he didn’t want to. Interestingly, James Gunn also revealed that the film is “fully finished.” Many fans will be wondering when the first full trailer for the film will arrive, but Gunn previously mentioned it’ll be a little longer until it’s released.

Here’s the synopsis for the movie:

“Welcome to hell — a.k.a. Bell Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out — even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment?
