James Gunn Working On ‘The Suicide Squad’ Edit From Home Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

The Suicide Squad director James Gunn has revealed that he’s working on the film’s edit from home amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The last few weeks have been quite stressful for folks all around the world as the coronavirus outbreak continues to spread and take lives. Amid the coronavirus outbreak, many have retreated to their homes for self-quarantine to practice social distancing in an increasingly anxious time.

The Suicide Squad director James Gunn is among those working at home, trying his best to remain in positive spirits. The filmmaker revealed that he’s working on The Suicide Squad‘s edit from home on Twitter, where he was asked by a fan what he’s doing to pass the time. You can check out his tweet below.

James Gunn, who has always been great at interacting with fans, is setting a fine example for those who don’t feel compelled to stay home during the coronavirus outbreak. It can be quite tough to remain productive and stable under lockdown, but The Suicide Squad director is proving to be a class-act in reminding folks to call those they love and work on personal projects. During the coronavirus outbreak, James Gunn is also rewatching some classic films on the Criterion channel, as well as working on a playlist for us.

The Suicide Squad wrapped filming just before the coronavirus outbreak was deemed an epidemic by WHO. With James Gunn working on the live-action DC Comics movie from home, it can hopefully make its release date of 2021 despite a bevy of films being delayed because of the coronavirus outbreak.

The first Suicide Squad followed a team of supervillains who were recruited by the government for a dangerous black ops mission in exchange for reduced sentences. The ensemble cast included Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Jared Leto as The Joker. However, James Gunn is expected to deliver on the fresh take on the Suicide Squad in his upcoming movie.

The Suicide Squad will be released in theaters on August 6, 2021.
