James Gunn Knows ‘The Suicide Squad’ Rating But Can’t Reveal It

The Suicide Squad director James Gunn reveals that he knows what the film’s rating will be, but can’t just reveal at this time.

While Warner Bros. and DC’s Suicide Squad was a box office hit, reactions towards the film were more mixed and the studio opted to take the supervillain team in a new direction for the follow-up with James Gunn at the helm. Now, Gunn is hard at work editing The Suicide Squad from the safety of his home and fans are eager to see the filmmaker’s fresh take on the titular team.

There has been speculation that The Suicide Squad could be rated R and while that remains unconfirmed, James Gunn addressed the matter in response to fan’s question on Twitter. While Gunn acknowledged that he knows what the rating for the film will be, he can’t reveal it just yet.

The Suicide Squad will be released in theaters on August 6, 2021.
