James Marsden Suits Up As Cyclops For Video Chat With ‘Sonic’ Co-Star Ben Schwartz

James Marsden donned Cyclops glasses for a video chat with Sonic co-star Ben Schwartz.

When the X-Men film series launched in 2000, James Marsden was the actor tasked with Scott Summer/Cyclops to life on the silver screen. While James Marsden’s time as Cyclops has seemingly come to an end, he recently joined the world of video game movies as a cast member of Sonic the Hedgehog.

However, James Marsden found a way to combine both worlds during a video chat with his Sonic co-star Ben Schwartz, who voiced the titular hedgehog in the feature film. In a photo shared by Schwartz, James Marsden can be seen wearing the Cyclops glasses from the X-Men films while conversing with his friend.

Here is the official synopsis for Sonic:

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster video game franchise from Sega that centres on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination.

Directed by Jeff Fowler from a script written by Patrick Casey, Josh Miller, and Oren Uziel, the film features the voice talent of Ben Schwartz as the titular character and stars James Marsden as sheriff Tom Wachowski, Jim Carrey as Dr. Ivo Robotnik, Neal McDonough as US Army Major Bennington, Tika Sumpter as Mrs. Wachowski, Lee Majdoub as Stone, and Frank C. Turner as Crazy Carl. Adam Pally, Natasha Rothwell, Debs Howard, and Elfina Luk also star.

Sonic the Hedgehog was released in theaters on February 14, 2020.
