James Wan Has The Perfect Reaction To ‘Aquaman’ Topping ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

Now that Aquaman has dethroned The Dark Knight Rises, the film from James Wan has taken the mantle of being the highest grossing DC film of all time with its box office gross of $1.09 billion worldwide.

With the news of the film becoming the top-grossing DC film ever imminent, James Wan took Twitter and his words, or to be more specific — word — puts his reaction to the film’s success perfectly: “Crazy'”. Check out his tweet below!

Wan’s reaction is a perfect response to the wave of success that Aquaman has received. With the film’s success, fans have embraced this new re-imagination of the character. Arthur Curry, AKA Aquaman, is perfectly portrayed by Jason Momoa and this iteration of Aquaman is here to stay. It seems the days of poking fun at the previously blonde-haired, seahorse-riding-hero, are over. And yes, now that Aquaman leads the DC universe as its highest grossing movie ever, it’s clear that a new King has arrived, and that from ocean to ocean, orange is the new black.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director, James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Aquaman is now playing. The DCEU will continue next with Shazam! which will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019, and will be followed by Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the current DC cinematic universe!
