A fan on Twitter shared a video yesterday of him getting on one knee and proposing to his now fiancé as an Aquaman poster looms behind them. Accompanying this announcement was the message: “Not only did I see one of my favorite films of the year today, but I also got engaged to my Queen and best friend! Thank you @creepypuppet for bringing my Hero to life with Heart and Respect. #Aquaman.” Here, have a look at the original proposal moment.
And then James Wan entered the scene. The Aquaman director retweeted the proposal, along with the message “Yes, that’s how you do it! A screening of Aquaman and a marriage proposal! Huge Congrats to you both!!! Here’s to love✨??.” Here, have a look at Wan’s tweet congratulating the Aquaman-based proposal.
There’s no telling yet if Mr. Drew Herring and his surprised bride-to-be will soon also end up ruling the seven seas as well. But hey, it’s another example of how these comic book films, as many as there are, can sometimes bring people together. What are your thoughts on this Aquaman proposal? Do you think that Mr. Herring will follow up with an Aquaman-themed wedding? And what do you think of James Wan’s response to the proposal? Let us know your thoughts on this in the comments below.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman.
