‘Suicide Squad’ Star Jared Says He ‘Would Definitely Play The Joker Again’

Suicide Squad star Jared Leto discussed the possibility of reprising his role as The Joker during an interview on Variety and iHeart’s podcast The Big Ticket.

Jared Leto made his first appearance as The Joker in director David David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, but his future as the Clown Prince of Crime has been uncertain as Warner Bros. moves forward with a standalone film featuring Joaquin Phoenix as the Batman villain and a new take on the supervillain team from director James Gunn. However, Jared Leto revealed that he remains open to the possibility of returning as the Joker depending on the quality of a given script:

“I would definitely play the Joker again. It all depends on the script and the circumstances as it always does.”

Jared Leto is set to star as Morbius in Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man spin-off about the titular living vampire while a new take on The Suicide Squad is currently in the pre-production phase. The new Suicide Squad movie is being directed by Guardians of the Galaxy helmer James Gunn.

The Suicide Squad is one of many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. The list also includes The BatmanThe FlashGreen Lantern CorpsBirds of PreyBlack AdamNightwingSupergirl and New Gods.
