Here’s What Jared Leto Looks Like As A Comic-Accurate Morbius For Sony’s Spider-Man Spinoff

After Jared Leto took to social media earlier today to tease the start of production on Sony’s next Spider-Man spin-off Morbius, we’ve got a look at what the actor could look like as a comic book accurate version of the popular anti-hero.

Plot details on the project remain under wraps, however, the film will be based on Dr. Michael Morbius, who, in the comics, was a famed scientist that attempted to cure himself of a rare blood disease but developed a form of vampirism instead. The film will feature Jared Leto in the starring role as Morbius. The popular anti-hero first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #101.

While the actor’s look for the film has yet to be revealed, fan art can give us an idea of what to expect should Sony give Jared Leto a comic accurate take on the character in the Spider-Man spin-off. You can check out the image of Jared Leto as Morbius below!

So what do you think? Are you excited for Jared Leto to take on the role after Morbius and expand Sony’s Universe of Spider-Man Characters?

Morbius will be the first film to expand Sony’s Universe of Spider-Man Characters after Venom managed $852 million at the worldwide box office.

Sony’s Morbius film is set to be directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House) from a script written by Netflix’s Lost in Space creators Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the project with Lucas Foster. Palak Patel will oversee for Sony.

Morbius stars Jared Leto as the lead anti-hero, along with Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, and Matt Smith. The film is rumored to feature an original character by the name of Loxias Crown as the main villain, who may be based on the supervillain Crown aka Hunger who has gone up against both Morbius and Spider-Man in the past.

In addition to Morbius, Sony has also begun development on a sequel to Venom starring Tom Hardy. While Venom director Ruben Fleischer is not expected to return for the sequel, the studio has tapped original scribe, Kelly Marcel, to write the script. The follow-up is expected to feature Woody Harrelson Cletus Kasady aka Carnage as the main villain.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script written by Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Ron Cephas Jones, and Woody Harrelson.

VENOM tells the evolution story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass character Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancee. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers – transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?

Venom is now available on Digital and will be released on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD on December 18.
