Jared Leto is maybe one of the most prolific entertainers around in Hollywood. He’s not only known for portraying characters like The Joker in David Ayer’s 2016 film Suicide Squad but he’s also the lead singer of 30 Seconds To Mars. He usually switches up his gigs as an actor or as a musician, but this time he did a little bit of both by celebrating the This Is War album’s birthday while in character as Dr. Michael Morbius. Check it out:
Jared Leto’s Morbius’ details are still kept under wraps but it seems that his story will be very much like Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock in Venom. Dr. Michael Morbius suffers from a rare blood disease which eventually turns him into a living vampire. Much like Eddie Brock, Jared Leto’s Michael Morbius is seen as an antihero rather than a villain which can potentially turn into a very interesting film.
It also seems that Jared Leto may also be done with his role as The Joker in the DCEU. Although there might be scenes depicting Harley Quinn’s past with the Clown Prince of Crime, there’s no confirmation that Jared Leto will appear in the film or even in James Gunn’s The Suidice Squad. Although his portrayal of The Joker seemed over-the-top, it had a lot of potential for the DCEU. Nevertheless, it seems that DC has moved away from Jared Leto only to focus on Joaquin Phoenix and Todd Phillips’ Joker project due for later this year.
