Jason Mamoa posted the following images on his Instagram:
The former picture, naturally, points out the makeup room, as Aquaman has a number of ocean-based tatoos on his body (one of which can be seen on his arm). The latter picture focuses on Jason Mamoa posing with casting director Jeanette Benzie, who has been a big part in finding talent for the DCEU thus far. Aquaman is rumored to be the breakout star of this Autumn’s Justice League, so hopefully Mamoa’s performance will generate a lot of interest in the standalone superhero movie. Better yet, he will probably help casual audiences get rid of the “Aquaman is a useless hero who talks to fish” mentality that’s plagued the character since his animated appearances on Super Friends.
Aquaman will make a splash on December 21, 2018. Its cast includes Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry (Aquaman), Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Patrick Wilson as Prince Orm Marius (Ocean Master), and Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna.
