‘Aquaman’ Star Jason Momoa Shares Update On TMT Protests

Aquaman star Jason Momoa has offered an update regarding the protests over the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope in Hawaii.

Unfortunately, things are not looking good for the sacred land that Aquaman star Jason Momoa calls home. In a new post on his official Instagram page, Jason Momoa shares that the construction will more than likely go through despite the various peaceful protests that have been taking place. The Aquaman star wants one last stand against the construction of the TMT and is using his social media to get as many people to come out to protest.

Check out the update from Aquaman star Jason Momoa below.

Jason Momoa will no doubt be seen at these peaceful protests and it wouldn’t be surprising if any of his Aquaman and Justice League co-stars came out to show their support. We’ll keep you updated on the development of the Thirty Meter Telescope as more news comes in.

Last month, Aquaman star Jason Momoa visited Hawaii to protest the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) on top of the Mauna Kea volcano. The area in which TMT is proposed to be constructed is sacred to Native Hawaiian culture and religion. Jason Momoa was joined by many other Hawaiians protesting the construction of the TMT. His Justice League co-star Ezra Miller was also there.

An Aquaman sequel is currently in development at Warner Brothers, with Jason Momoa returning as the DC Comics icon. Scheduled to be released in theaters on December 16, 2022, Aquaman 2 is being written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, one of the writers behind Jason Momoa’s first cinematic solo outing as the character. James Wan is expected to return to the director’s chair after he completes a horror project for New Line Cinema.

Jason Momoa was last seen in Aquaman. Here is the official synopsis for the movie:

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.

Aquaman is available on Digital HD, 4K UHD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD. Stay tuned for the latest news on Jason Momoa and the future of the DC Extended Universe!
