Jason Momoa shocked many when he shaved off his beard recently to bring awareness to plastics not being recyclable. Ever since his days on Game of Thrones, Jason Momoa has become known for his beard as kept it for the Aquaman role. Aquaman is traditionally clean shaven in the comics, but that changed with Peter David’s run and Jason Momoa’s look.
While fans were disappointed to see Jason Momoa’s beard go, it seems it will be back for the sequel. Aquaman 2 is already in development with David Johnson-McGoldrick returning to write the script. Director James Wan is waiting to see a script before he signs on. Meanwhile, Jason Momoa visited The Ellen Show on Wednesday and provided a brief update on where the sequel is at in development:
“I was really, really, really, passionate, to do the second one because it’s the first time where it’s all on Earth. It’s combining land and sea, kind of like what I’m doing with this [environmental cause]. There’s no outside aliens destroying Earth, it’s us. And so I was excited to get back in there, and so I’ve been working with our previous writer, and getting in there, and we’ve got a locked story, and we’re getting into it. And I think it’s going to be like in two years or whatever. The beard will be back by then.”
