Jason Momoa Celebrates ‘Aquaman’ Hitting Theaters

Aquaman has been reeling in big box office success in overseas markets over the last week, to the tune of over $300 million in 58 countries and territories. It finally opens in the United States this weekend and fans are not the only ones who are excited. Arthur Curry himself, Jason Momoa, took the Instagram to celebrate the film’s domestic debut.

In the social media post, Momoa reaffirms that he is both thankful and proud of the project.

“It’s finally here happy holidays I hope u love it. I’m very thankful and proud.”

The latest film by Warner Bros. and DC is off to a strong start domestically, with a catch of $13.7 million in advanced screenings alone. This includes $4.7 million from the Amazon Prime showings ($2.9m) as well as Real-D previews on Wednesday night. To put that into perspective, Aquaman came just shy of Thor: Ragnarok‘s $14.5 million preview haul but better than Justice League, which made $13 million in advanced screenings.
