Official Title For Jason Reitman’s ‘Ghostbusters’ Sequel Confirmed

The British Board of Film Classification has confirmed the full title of Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters sequel.

At the beginning of the year, it was announced that Jason Reitman was directing a Ghostbusters film set in the same universe as the original 1984 film and its sequel. Now, The British Board of Film Classification has given a 12A rating to Sony’s first trailer for the Jason Reitman film and confirmed it will officially be titled Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

According to the BBFC listing, the trailer for Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife will clock in at two minutes and 28 seconds. With Sony’s Jumanji: The Next Level scheduled to have screenings in the UK this weekend, Trailer Track expects the first trailer for Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife to debut any day or in time for its North American release on December 13 at the latest.

Full story details on Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife are currently unknown, though the film will center on a single mom portrayed by Carrie Coon and her family. Directed by Jason Reitman from a script he co-wrote with Gil Kena, Ghostbusters: Afterlife stars Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Celeste O’Connor, Logan Kim, Bokeem Woodbine, Oliver Cooper, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 10, 2020.
