Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige reveals that they talked to Jason Statham for a movie role, but it didn't happen due to scheduling issues.
While Kevin Feige was on the press tour for Spider-Man: Homecoming, Den Of Geek asked the Marvel Studios President if Jason Statham had been on the shortlist to play any characters in the setting. While it wasn’t exactly confirmed whether or not those Bullseye rumors were true, Feige did explicitly say that Statham nearly had a part in an MCU movie at one point:
“We’re fans too – we talked with him about doing a role in one of our movies. It didn’t end up working out, his schedule didn’t work out.”
Kevin Feige also recalled that Jason Statham politely declined via a phone call, but suggested that “maybe next time” they needed him, he could fill out a role. When asked about which movie and/or role Statham would have been up for, Feige grinned and coyly refused to reveal that information, suggesting that it’s a movie that has yet to be released – so perhaps Statham could have been eyed to play Skurge in Thor: Ragnarok before the part went to Karl Urban.
Daredevil Seasons 1 & 2 are available to watch on Netflix.
