The Wrap reports that Kick-Ass 2 helmer Jeff Wadlow has signed on to direct an adaptation of IDW’s Danger Girl for Constantin Film. The project is a top priority for the studio and is gearing up to begin production by 2020.
According to The Wrap, Jeff Wadlow is also doing additional rewrites to the Danger Girl script. Umair Aleem wrote the initial drafts of Constantin’s adaptation of the comic book series by J. Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell . Constantin Film’s Robert Kulzer is producing the project alongside Jeremy Bolt of JB Pictures and Adrian Askarieh of Prime Universe Films.
Danger Girl revolves around an adventurer by the name of Abbey Chase, who’s recruited by an all-female secret spy organization. She’s then paired with three other operatives — Sydney Savage, Natalia Kasstle and “Silicon Val” — to locate a series of objects before a villainous organization known as the Hammer Syndicate.
Jeff Wadlow is perhaps best known for directing the sequel to Kick-Ass starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chloë Grace Moretz. His other credits include Cry Wolf, Never Back Down and the recent horror flick Truth or Dare.
