Jeffrey Dean Morgan Didn’t Know Who Negan Killed On ‘The Walking Dead’

It seems that not even all the actors were privy to who Negan killed on The Walking Dead as even Jeffrey Dean Morgan didn’t know who he killed at the end of the show’s sixth season.

While on board Walker Stalker Cruise 2019, the actor talked a bit about the infamous cliff hanger during the sixth season of The Walking Dead. At it, revealed that he didn’t know who was going to be Negan’s victim:

I had an idea, but I really didn’t know until we came back the following year. The last episode of [Season] Six, I didn’t know.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan later said that he suspected that it would be Glenn. He admitted, however, that he had no idea that he would also kill Abraham:

So no, I really didn’t know until I came back. I thought Steven, but I had no idea about Abraham.

From the look of things, AMC wanted to keep the identity of Negan’s victims close to the chest.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is, of course, referring to The Walking Dead’s most infamous cliff hangers. After an entire season of building up to Negan’s appearance and speculation over who he would kill, the season ended with the character not being revealed and killed through a POV shot. It was later revealed, however, that the character in the POV shot was Abraham. Negan then decided to kill Glen after an outburst from Daryl. But from the look of things, even Jeffrey Dean Morgan didn’t know who he was going to kill the day of shooting.

AMC’s The Walking Dead stars Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Austin Amelio, Khary Payton, Katelyn Nacon, Pollyanna McIntosh, Callan McAuliffe, Avi Nash, and Samantha Morton as Alpha.
