Jemaine Clement Joins The Cast Of ‘Legion’

At a panel for Legion at New York Comic Con, which included Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb, the first half hour of the pilot episode was screened for audiences, who were very excited by the end of the preview.

In addition to Dan Stevens as David Haller/Legion, Aubrey Plaza as Lenny, Katie Aselton as Amy, David’s older sister, Bill Irwin as Shrink Man, Rachel Keller as Syd, Jermaine Harris, and Amber Midthunder, producer Noah Hawley announced via Twitter that People Places Things actor Jemaine Clement will be joining the cast of the FX show.

Although there are no details as to who Clement will be playing, the actor will have a multiple episode arc.

Hawley says that he wanted Legion to “feel like a 1964 Terrence Stamp movie”.

Hawley continues: “We live in a very tumultuous times, things are polarizing and there is a lot of intolerance. This isn’t about battling the enemy but dealing with the enemy within.”

Loeb teased that Legion “will make you laugh and make you cry”. The show’s trailer premiered during July’s San Diego Comic Con and Bryan Singer has confirmed that the show will be a part of the larger X-Men cinematic universe.

Legion, the son of Charles Xavier and Gabrielle Haller, has split personalities which take control of different aspects of his power.

Legion debuts on FX in 2017.
