‘Batman: The Long Halloween’: Jensen Ackles Becomes Bruce Wayne In ‘Part 1’ Trailer

Our first look at the Batman: The Long Halloween animated film is here!

Jensen Ackles is Bruce Wayne in the official trailer for the first part of Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment’s Batman: The Long Halloween.

IGN has premiered the official trailer for the first installment of the two-part Batman: The Long Halloween, which sees Jensen Ackles voicing Bruce Wayne. Best known for his work as Dean Winchester on The CW’s Supernatural, Ackles is no stranger to the DC Universe, having previously provided his voice for the role of Jason Todd in 2010’s Batman: Under the Red Hood.

Directed by Chris Palmer, who recently worked on Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Batman: The Long Halloween is an animated adaptation of the iconic comic book limited series of the same name from writer Jeph Loeb and artist Tim Sale. The animated film was written by Tim Sheridan. You can watch the trailer for part one below.

In addition to Jensen Ackles as Batman, The Long Halloween also features the voice talents of Josh Duhamel as Harvey Dent, Billy Burke as James Gordon, Titus Welliver as Carmine Falcone, David Dastmalchian as Calendar Man, Troy Baker as Joker, Amy Landecker as Barbara Gordon, Julie Nathanson as Gilda Dent, Jack Quaid as Alberto, Fred Tatasciore as Solomon Grundy, Alastair Duncan as Alfred Pennyworth and the late Naya Rivera as Catwoman. Frances Callier, Greg Chun, Gary Leroi Gray, and Jim Pirri are also on board.

Here is the synopsis for the original Batman: The Long Halloween comic book series from Jeph Loeb and artist Tim Sale:

“Taking place during Batman’s early days of crime fighting, this collection tells the story of a mysterious killer who murders his prey only on holidays. Working with District Attorney Harvey Dent and Lieutenant James Gordon, Batman races against the calendar as he tries to discover who Holiday is before he claims his next victim each month. A mystery that has the reader continually guessing the identity of the killer, this story also ties into the events that transform Harvey Dent into Batman’s deadly enemy, Two-Face.”
