Jeph Loeb on Misty Knight’s Spin-off Chances

Marvel isn’t having the best of times on ABC, but their Netflix content is blowing people away. That’s led to the streaming service adding a spin-off based on The Punisher on top of their five series order. Is there room for a sixth MCU show? Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb was asked that recently, when the possibility of a Misty Knight spin-off was raised.

Simeone Missick is playing the popular charcter in Luke Cage, and she’s been open about her hopes for a spin-off. By the sound of things, Netflix might have too full a slate for another Marvel show. Loeb told The Hollywood Reporter, “We certainly have plans for all of our characters. A lot of it has to do with exactly how many shows Netflix is actually going to let us make. We’re up to six now.”

Loeb then joked that another show would essentially make them, “the Marvel channel on Netflix.”

Even if Misty Knight doesn’t get her own show, we’ll be seeing quite a lot of her. Loeb praised Missick’s performance in Luke Cage before saying that Misty will return in Iron Fist:

Simone just knocked it so far out of the park that we’re still trying to find the baseball. It’s somewhere out there traversing the globe. So it’s really great. And I can tell you that what she’s doing on Iron Fist, it’s just incredible. The fans are really going to love it.

You can see Misty Knight in Luke Cage on September 30.

I spend all my time watching things then writing about them. Can't really complain.
