Jeremy Renner has finally addressed the recent troubling accusations made by his ex-wife Sonni Pacheco that the Avengers star threatened to kill her and himself. She also claimed in legal documents that his drug addiction made him a danger to their daughter, including a moment where he allegedly fired a gun into the ceiling while she slept in her bedroom. TMZ reports that the actor has now responded with his own set of documents framing Sonni as the manipulative one in the relationship, claiming that she has a drug problem of her own which is pushing her to make this attempt at a “cash grab.”
The Avengers star also claims that he hired a mental health specialist to observe him around his daughter to provide evidence that he’s a competent parent without drug or alcohol problems. Jeremy Renner also claims to have taken random drug tests across a three-month period that all came back negative. The documents apparently also showed that each of the allegations made by Sonni were timed with movie releases starring Jeremy Renner, supposedly to harm his career. The Avengers star wants Sonni to have limited contact with their daughter until she can “overcome her overwhelming obsession with demonizing [Renner].” Pacheco also reportedly bragged to her friends that she’d “bagged an Avenger,” and wanted to help her friends get to know the rest of the cast so that they could do the same.
