Variety has revealed that Hailee Steinfeld has been offered the role of Kate Bishop in the upcoming Hawkeye series. She is set to take over the mantle as Hawkeye from Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton following the events of Avengers: Endgame.
Kate Bishop was first featured in Marvel’s Young Avengers #1 in 2005. She was created by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung. Kate Bishop was the third character and first female to adopt the Hawkeye name, following Clint Barton and Wyatt McDonald. In the comics, Kate Bishop is affiliated with the Young Avengers and the West Coast Avengers.
The Hawkeye series with Jeremy Renner is just one project Marvel Studios is developing for Disney Plus. Shows centered on Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Vision and Scarlet Witch, and Loki are also in the works for the upcoming streaming service.
