Did DC Comics’ Jim Lee Confirm Robert Pattinson Has Been Cast As Batman?

Before taking a flight to Abu Dhabi, DC Comics’ Jim Lee may have confirmed that Robert Pattinson is set to play Batman in Matt Reeves’ upcoming film.

Although Warner Bros. and DC Comics aren’t really known for teasing DCEU related news via their most recognized personalities and social media, DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee may have revealed more than he wanted on a recent Instagram post. The legendary comic book artist and writer turned co-publisher at DC was flying to Abu Dhabi and casually posted the stuff he carries to spend time on the plane.

He shows off his passport, his Nintendo Switch and a couple of tablets. One of the tablets features the name Robert Pattinson out in plain sight. It doesn’t make much sense, but could this mean that Jim Lee is teasing that Robert Pattinson is officially on board for Matt Reeves’ Batman film?:

Plot details for Matt Reeves’ film are still under wraps, though the project has been rumored to be centered on a younger Caped Crusader as he tackles several of his more traditional enemies such as The Penguin and Catwoman. While Warner Bros. is set to restart the character’s story on the big screen, Matt Reeves has confirmed that his film will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic.

Robert Pattinson has reportedly been cast in the Bruce Wayne/Batman role and Ben Affleck’s replacement, however, Warner Bros. has yet to make an official announcement. Robert Pattinson’s alleged cast as the new Batman was met with largely mixed reactions from the fans. Some want to see other actors cast instead of Robert Pattinson, mainly because of his past as a vampire in Twilight. Others want to give Robert Pattinson a chance to show he’s worthy of the part. In any case, we’ll have to wait and see if Robert Pattinson ultimately gets to be our new Batman after Ben Affleck’s resignation.

The film is one of many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. The list also includes a Flash standalone film, a Cyborg standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, The Suicide Squad, Aquaman 2, The Trench, Black Adam, Supergirl, Plastic Man and New Gods.

What do you think about Robert Pattinson replacing Ben Affleck as Batman? Are you still on the fence with this choice? Sound off in the comment section down below!

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Matt Reeves’ The Batman, whether if Robert Pattinson’s will be cast as Ben Affleck’s replacement as the Caped Crusader and the future of the DCEU.
