Jimmy Olsen From Christopher Reeve’s ‘Superman’ Might Have Role In ‘Justice League’

Superhero films have been known to honor past actors who have portrayed classic characters by allowing them to reprise roles, make cameos, and in some cases even be series regulars in today’s superhero shows and movies. Some examples of this are Lynda Carter in Supergirl season 2, John Wesley Shipp in The Flash, and Lou Ferrigno as the voice of The Hulk in Marvel’s The Incredible Hulk. The DC Extended Universe may now be getting in on the same tradition as their TV counterparts and Marvel by bringing back Marc McClure, the original Jimmy Olsen from the 1978 Superman film, for a role in the 2017 Justice League movie.

Earlier today was a special screening of Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut at the Hayden Orpheum Theatre in Sydney, Australia, and McClure was one of the special guests to attend the event. While at the event, the website Superman Homepage spoke with McClure and asked him if he was slated to have any sort of role in Supergirl, to which he revealed that he has a recurring role in NBC’s superhero sitcom Powerless. In addition, Superman Homepage also reported that McClure stated he would be appearing in a film near the end of 2017. With a release date of November 17th, 2017, Justice League sure seems to fit his timeline just right.

Let us know if you think Justice League is the film McClure is talking about, or if there is another movie you think he will be appearing in. Our best guess in Justice League, and it would certainly be cool to see him considering Jimmy Olsen from the current universe is already dead. Let us know what you think in the comments.

As stated above, Justice League is set for a November 17th, 2017 release.

Jack of some trades, master of some others. That saying never really made a lot of sense to me.
