J. J. Abrams Reveals ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ Image As Filming Wraps

Director J. J. Abrams revealed a new Star Wars: Episode IX photo to announce production on the latest chapter of the saga has concluded.

Lucasfilm is set to conclude the Skywalker saga in Star Wars: Episode IX and director J. J. Abrams will return to helm the final chapter of the sequel trilogy after having launched the new era with The Force Awakens. Now, J. J. Abrams announced principal photography on the highly-anticipated Episode IX has wrapped by sharing a new photo featuring Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, and Oscar Isaac as Poe.

Directed by J. J. Abrams, Star Wars: Episode IX stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams. Carrie Fisher will appear as General Leia Organa through the use of previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. 

Star Wars: Episode IX will be released in theaters on December 19, 2019.
