Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker Evades Gotham City Police In New Set Photos

What can you say about both the Joker and Joaquin Phoenix? They both have a taste for the theatrical, that much you can assume. But remember one line from Heath Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight — he’s like a dog chasing cars. He wouldn’t know what to do if he caught it. He just does things. Such seems to be the case with the Clown Prince of Crime in Todd Phillips’ upcoming DC film, which is currently filming. And as is the case with most films filming outdoors, folks are bound to snap pictures. Like Shazam!, it’s a way of free promotion.

In some new set photos, we see Joaquin Phoenix clad in full Joker make-up as he’s on the run at full Flash-speed from Gotham City’s finest in the form of Bill Camp and Shea Whigham. And if you’ve ever seen either Agent Carter or Boardwalk Empire, just to name two, you’ll remember that Shea Whigham is no stranger to playing authority figures, more specifically a sheriff or head of police. Running around on the streets of New York in, well, practically any era is dangerous business, but more so when you’re the Joker of all people.
