The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus told The IMDB Show he trusts fellow actor Joaquin Phoenix will kill it as the Joker in the upcoming DC film.
In the last few months, we’ve seen a lot of BTS images from Todd Phillips’ upcoming Joker film set for release later this year. Fans were surprised to see actor Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince Of Crime with a more rustic and wore-down look than we’re used to, almost echoing Heath Ledger’s Academy-Award-winning version of the Clown Prince of Crime. In any case, the film has critics and fans eager to know more about how will Joaquin Phoenix be in the movie.
Fellow actors such as The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus are sure that Joaquin Phoenix will do an outstanding job with the Joker. Speaking to IMBD, Reedus stated that Phoenix will kill it because that job may very well be his dream role:
“I can’t wait to see what Joaq[uin Phoenix] does in Joker, I’m excited by that. I’ve known him for a long time and he’s just super talented. But I think a role where you can just really twist it and mess with you, is like his dream role. I think he’s gonna just kill it.”
Fans are eagerly waiting for the film to wrap and for the first trailer to come since the movie’s release is dated for later this year in October. Many are speculating that this version of the Joker will be heavily based upon the one we saw in the famous graphic novel, The Killing Joke by Alan Moore.
Which version of the Joker do you think we’ll see in Todd Phillips’ movie? Are you excited to see Joaquin Phoenix in the role? Sound off in the comment section below!
Following Aquaman, which is now playing, the DCEU continues in April with Shazam! on April 5, 2019, which will be followed by Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
Directed by Todd Phillips from a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.
“Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.
From Warner Bros. Pictures and director, James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.
We’ll let you know as soon as we have new information regarding Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker film, so stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for more!
