It turns out that John Boyega, who plays Finn in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi, has a disdain for porgs, the creatures that live on Ach-To.
There, the host Jimmy Kimmel asked the cast if they were fans of the porgs and if any of them didn’t like it, which got a quick hand raise from John Boyega, who plays Finn. Boyega continued by discussing why he wasn’t a fan of them:
“I just naturally don’t like ‘em. I don’t. I was on the [Millennium] Falcon and there was a hole and then there was like all little porgs bunched together and then there were big ones. They have the puppets blinking and all that kind of stuff. I’m not into it.”
The tables turned to Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron in the film, when he revealed that he’s “pro-porg”. Kimmel then asked Andy Serkis, who plays Supreme Leader Snoke, if he was interested in doing motion capture for a porg and while Serkis was interested, he joked that it didn’t move past the conceptual phase.
