John Boyega, who plays Finn in 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' says 'Star Wars: Episode IX' will feature a definitive conclusion for the sequel trilogy
Boyega, who plays Finn in the sequel trilogy once again expressed his excitement for Abrams returning to direct the film. Boyega is not in the know about where the story is headed, but he is certain that Episode IX will be an epic conclusion that this sequel trilogy deserves:
“I think what’s fantastic is it feels like it’s coming back full circle. I don’t know nothing about the script, the story. I don’t know where Finn’s going, I don’t know where Rey is going, but definitely I feel this is the war to end all wars in this movie. I’m interested to know how he will handle that. I’m asking so many questions and I haven’t had a chance to kinda sit down and write J.J. a message just to say congratulations and I’m stoked. My fixation now is that he needs to get some SLEEP and GEAR UP because we’re doing another one of these movies, mate! But I think he’s gonna do a great job, as always. He’s J.J.”
When it comes to The Last Jedi, both Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn are put on separate journeys after their life-changing adventure together in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Rey leaves her friend behind at the Resistance base to find Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) on Ahch-To where she will train in the ways of the Force.
Meanwhile, Finn will thrown into the action along with maintenance worker Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) for an integral mission that will test their true convictions as heroes within the Resistance.
Much like his character in Star Wars, Boyega himself has become a big deal. Today, the first trailer for his upcoming film Pacific Rim Uprising was released, where he serves as the lead actor as well as a co-producer for the film.
