'A Quiet Place' director and actor John Krasinski responds to a fan art that depicts him as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in Marvel's Fantastic Four.
However, Campbell expresses that after seeing Krasinski’s performance in 13 Hours, he believes that the actor would be a great fit as Reed Richards when the Disney/Fox merger is complete so that the Fantastic Four and the X-Men can merge with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Krasinski saw the post and shared it in a humorous tweet:
Previous actors who have portrayed Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic were Alex Hyde-White, Ioan Gruffudd and Miles Teller. Hyde-White appeared in the infamous unreleased 1994 film directed by Roger Corman while Gruffudd appeared in Story’s Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Teller appeared in Josh Trank’s failed Fantastic Four (2015) reboot.
Krasinski is an actor commonly discussed in regards for future superhero roles. Before Chris Evans was ultimately cast as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Krasinski was also in the running to wield the First Avenger’s mighty shield.
Hypothetically, if Krasinski were to play the MCU’s version of Mr. Fantastic, he would be an interesting choice. Perhaps his wife Emily Blunt can join him and play Reed’s wife and fellow Fantastic Four member, Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman.
