Ever since the conclusion of the hit comedy series The Office, actor John Krasinski has done quite a lot to make sure he doesn’t just play that same “Jim” role every single time. In Michael Bay’s 13 Hours the actor showed off his action chops, in A Quiet Place he showcased his horror skills, and even in Amazon Prime’s Jack Ryan John Krasinski continues to surprise audiences with his immense talent as a leading man.
Last year, the historic Disney/Fox deal was publically announced and along with that deal, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans were excited for many of 20th Century Fox’s comic book characters to return to Marvel Studios. This means that Fantastic Four members Ben Grimm, Johnny Storm, Sue Storm, and Reed Richards can now all appear in the MCU. There’s no telling when the Fantastic Four will finally join the MCU, nor do fans know who will be playing the iconic team, but this new art from Instagram shows why John Krasinski would be a great member of the team. The last big screen outing of Marvel’s First Family was in the infamous 2015 film, simply titled Fantastic Four. The film starred Miles Teller as Reed Richards, Kate Mara as Sue Storm, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm, and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm. After a troublesome production, the film had an abysmal box office run when it opened in theaters that summer.
Before that, MCU alumni Chris Evans played Johnny Storm in 2005’s Fantastic Four and its sequel Rise of the Silver Surfer, which was released in 2007 and marked the end of the franchise. Now that the Disney/Fox deal is happening, Marvel Studios has also obtained the film rights to another iconic team that is known for meeting up with the Marvel foursome quite often, the X-Men.
