‘John Wick’ Screenwriter Returns For Third Film; Production Start Eyed

David Kolstad is set to return to pen John Wick: Chapter 3, the third installment of the neo-noir action thriller franchise starring Keanu Reeves.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed screenwriter David Kolstad is set to return to pen John Wick: Chapter 3, the third installment of the neo-noir action thriller franchise starring Keanu Reeves.

Kolstad wrote both the first John Wick and the recent sequel John Wick: Chapter 2. The screenwriter is currently in the middle of developing the script with John Wick co-director Chad Stahelski who returned to helm the sequel solo and is eyeing to direct the third film as well.

Lionsgate is fast-tracking production on the film, targeting a fall start for principal photography on the film.

A third chapter in the franchise was a no-brainer after John Wick: Chapter 2 outgrossed its predecessor in just over a week from its release. John Wick: Chapter 3 will likely expand the world in very much the same way the sequel did for the original John Wick as (spoiler alert) as John attempts to escape from New York now that he is officially excommunicado from The Continental with a contract on his head.

As of now, John Wick: Chapter 3 does not have a release date. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of John Wick as we learn it.

John Wick: Chapter 2 is currently on Digital HD now and will release on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on June 13. You can read our review here.
