‘Joker:’ New Set Video Reveals Classic Costume For Joaquin Phoenix

Right on the heels of Warner Bros releasing the test footage of the Todd Phillips Joker film with Joaquin Phoenix,t here’s a new video afoot showcasing not just the shooting of the film, but how Phoenix may look in the role.

In the video on TMZ, which you can access in the link below, the video shows a New York City subway, specifically in Uptown, Manhattan. As frightened passengers exit the train in terror. Calmly exiting, though, is who appears to be Joaquin Phoenix, who is wearing a clown mask and a Joker suit that feels very emblematic of what Cesar Romero wore in the 1960s Batman television series. As the mob goes wild, the Joker sets down his mask, reveals his true face- which is not unlike the final image shown in the test footage, and goes on his merry way.

It will be interesting to see if this is how Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker looks for the duration of the film, but with the film still very early in filming, that’s all speculation right now. Though the choice to have a look similar to that of Cesar Romero’s Joker shows that this Clown Prince of Crime won’t be dipping from just one source of inspiration.
