starring Joaquin Phoenix as the most iconic villain in comic book history has surfaced the web. Here, we see some shots of Phoenix as his character Arthur Fleck – before he gives in and becomes the Clown Prince of Crime in Gotham City. This set video also shows Zazie Beetz’s character Sophie Dumond strolling her merry way as Arthur stalks her.

Here, we see that Arthur is quite down on his luck and we continue to get hints at how he is truly disregarded by society before he dons the iconic clown makeup. Also, given that Beetz’s character Sophie is described to be a cynical single mother and love interest to Arthur, it will be interesting to see how their dynamic plays out both before and after Arthur fully transforms into the Joker.
