Now, we got more photos of Phoenix as Arthur Fleck in the traditional clown makeup. This time though, Arthur is shown to be on the run… Quite literally, in fact.
These photos once again showcase Phoenix in stills showcasing the type of range he plans to bring in perhaps the most-coveted villain role in all of comic book movie history. Even though many people initially scoffed at the idea of a Joker movie without Bruce Wayne/Batman involved, Todd Phillips, Phoenix and the rest of the impressive cast and crew have left people turning around on the idea for the better.
Are you excited to see how Joker turns out? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news with the DC Comics films from both the DCEU and future “Elseworlds” standalone stories.
“Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.
Directed by Todd Phillips from a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, Shea Whigham, and Robert De Niro.
Joker will be released in theaters on October 4, 2019.
