Jon Cryer Calls His Lex Luthor Role A Chance To Do Justice On ‘Supergirl’

In a recent interview, Lex Luthor actor Jon Cryer called his upcoming role in Supergirl as a chance to do some kind of justice for the character’s family.

During the interview, the inevitable subject of Superman IV: The Quest For Peace came up. In the film, he played Lex Luthor’s nephew, Lenny Luthor who was used for comedic relief in a film that simply didn’t work. During the interview, he joked about the role and how the character was something of an idiot.

Later on, he called his new role in Supergirl as a chance to do a Luthor character justice in a way that he was unable to in Superman IV: The Quest For Peace:

I had a certain amount of familiarity. I was very excited about working with Katie McGrath, and I loved the whole story that they’ve set up for this season. I felt like Lenny was a branch on the family tree that fell off pretty early and was rotting on the ground for a long while. So I feel like this was my chance to sort of reclaim it and do it a little more justice — or injustice, as it were.

From the look of things, the actor is very eager to come back to the Luthor family!
