Jon Cryer’s casting did throw some for a bit, given how many see Cryer mostly for his comedic work. But if past actors are any indication, it’s that you can get dramatic performances out of mostly comedic actors. Perhaps the same will apply to Jon Cryer on Supergirl, but until that day- March 17, 2019- arrives, we have Cryer, who took to Twitter last night to share a photo of his hand bearing a ring with the initials “LL” on it. Well, hopefully that ring isn’t laced with kryptonite.
Oh, who am I kidding? It’s Lex Luthor. Whether Jon Cryer or otherwise, of course there may be something kryptonite-related afoot. But anyway, have a look at Cryer teasing Lex Luthor’s arrival on Supergirl in the tweet below:
While the series has already given us hints that Katie McGrath’s Lena Luthor could be headed down a dark path that leads to her becoming a villain, we’ll have to see what sort of scheming Jon Cryer’s Lex Luthor will no doubt have in store when he debuts. After all, he’s already incarcerated, but no prison can hold Lex Luthor.
What have been your thoughts so far on Jon Cryer being cast as Lex Luthor? What sort of performance do you hope he brings to Supergirl? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
