Jon Favreau Officially Reveals Live-Action ‘Star Wars’ Series Title

Jon Favreau has taken to Instagram to officially reveal the title of his upcoming live-action Star Wars series.

The highly-anticipated series will be the first live-action series set in the Star Wars galaxy, which Favreau is serving as executive producer. The series is set to take place between the events of Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, and has been heavily rumored to be following the Mandalorians after the fall of the Empire.

Favreau has now confirmed the rumors that the series will be focused on Mandalore, revealing the title of the upcoming series as The Mandalorian along with new details regarding the show. You can check out his post below.

The series which reportedly begins production this week is set to debut exclusively on Disney’s upcoming direct to consumer streaming service. In addition to expanding into live-action television, Lucasfilm has Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss set to write and produce a new set of Star Wars films separate from both the Skywalker Saga and as well as a new trilogy from Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson.

Currently in production is Star Wars: Episode IX which JJ Abrams has returned to direct from a script he has co-written with Batman v Superman writer Chris Terrio.
